September Sketch Winner: Megan Klauer

Hopefully you all remember this beautiful September Sketch from Aida for our monthly challenge. Nothing like waiting until the last day of the month to post the winner....but in my defense I thought there were 31 days in September (this year LOL).
We are thrilled to announce that our Design Team all picked Megan Klauer as the sketch winner. In addition to being a great scrapbooker, she's also a wonderful photographer. Be sure to visit her blog when you have a minute and check out the close up to this fun B-Day Bash Layout.
Congrats Megan!!

Tutorial: How to make Prehistoric Tracks

I was waiting for an explanation from Tomomi on how she create the VERY cool dinosaur tracks on her layout before I posted this and she was nice enough to include step-by-step photos too!!
Look closer...aren't these dino prints so cool!? I instantly recognized them as our "Snag'em Stamp" but couldn't figure out how she got the cool crackled texture.
Supplies needed:
Stamp the track image on some cardstock:
Cut out the print with an xacto knife:
Here's the image after you cut away the stamped images:

Now you'll need some Crackle Paint:

Paint over the stencil, like this:

Let the paint dry and you're done. Cool technique huh??

Recap of Scrapfest & Winner Announced

We are still catching up on work and sleep after returning from Minnesota's famous Scrapfest event sponsored by Archivers and held at the amazing Mall of America.

Here's some great pictures we gathered while on our travels and be sure to scroll the end of the post to find out who our luck SCRAPFEST winner of the Imaginisce-Provo Craft giveaway is....
Teaching classes is by far my most favorite part of every event! The students in our classes were wonderful, gracious and quick learners. We had so much teaching and cannot wait to return next year!

Me teaching one of our AWESOME group of ladies in class!! They rocked!
We love to see great friends at events like Scrapfest....
Julia, Glue Arts' GLUE GIRL

Sometimes after a VERY long day of teaching and demos we take time to eat! We enjoyed the couple of dinner spots we visited while in the Minneapolis area. Thankfully our team member, Matt grew up there!!

Amy, Lori, Nicole and Matt Holmes at Fat Lorenzo's local pizzeria
Julia Sandvoss, Amy Mitchell, Lori Allred, Madison Parker of Echo Park dining at Twin City Grill
This cute mother-daughter duo stopped by our both to show us what they created with the new i-rock tool they purchased at Scrapfest. Scroll down...it's cute! If you know who these cute girls are, tell them to email us...we want to send them a fun thank you for sharing their creativity with us at the booth!!

We had a few minutes before our class started to stop and eat a banana....little did I know Amy was snapping pictures of my "resting".
Madison of Echo Park wanted to try out our i-rock tool and he was hooked. He was blinging all sort of things out and even demo-ed the tool to a fun group of ladies the next morning. Thanks Madison!!
I added the circle so you could sort of see what Madison created with the i-rock...for those of you that cannot tell, it's the letter "M" for Madison.

But then we decided to show Madison how easy it was to i-rock his own Echo Park stickers using the i-rock.

Wanna see Madison's feedback about the i-rock? Check out this quick video Amy shot after he finished playing with the tool for the first time:

Watch in coming weeks for a Blog Swap with Echo Park. We've challenged their designers to come up with some fun sample featuring our i-rock and i-top tools.

ScRApfEsT GiVeaWaY!!!
And for all of you that stopped by our booth or attended one of our classes, you know about the combined Provo Craft-Imaginisce Giveaway we were promoting at this event. Dino-Roar Collection & Cricut's Dinosaur Tracks: The Perfect Pair!!

Hello and thanks for stopping by today! We're having fun this week previewing designs for all our fabulous fans with our Dino-Roar Collection and the Dinosaur Tracks Cricut cartridge. Shemaine create the bulk of this post and then we rounded up some more creations from our awesome design team for you...so keep scroll (and you could win)!!

It's Shemaine from the Design Team and I've got a fun project for you today. I save pretty much every thing and recycle it when I can. For this project I have re-purposed a baby bag I got from my shower 3 years years ago into a fun birthday gift bag.

Here's the before
And here's the finished project

Here's a close up of the dinosaur embellies that I created with my Cricut Expression and the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge and some of the patterned paper from the Dino Roar collection. The green check  background is also recycled packaging from our Dino Roar stickers and so is the strip down the card.

You can easily re-purpose gift bags with pattern paper by simply tracing the shape of the bag and cutting it out. Then I just adhered the paper to the bag with adhesive and created a little Dino scene. Then I finished it off with a tag I cut using the tag option of the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge . Add some coordinating tissue paper and you've got a fun gift bag.

The card was created with the Card option also included in the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge from Cricut. How easy is that? Simple load a sheet of cardstock on the Cricut mat and choose this option on your Cricut and cut. Mine measures 5". Then I backed the die cut dino with tan cardstock and embellished. I finished off the card stamping a birthday wishes sentiment.

I hope you'll try re-purposing a gift bag with one of our collections. Be sure and link it up to this post so we can stop by and see it!

Now here's some more great ideas using the Cricut Dinosaur Tracks cartridge and the fun Dino-Roar Collection:

Dinomite! by Robyn Schaub

Birthday Boy
by Melinda Spinks

Dyno Boy

i Love Dinosaurs
by Melinda Spinks

Notice how Melinda stamped behind the sticker stacker to add a little added bit of interest. We also loved all her pen stitching all around her embellishments and cut out pieces.

Check out these cute leaves too....
