60 Minute Makeover

We thought that our Design Team did such an amazing job last time that we decided to challenge them again with the 60 minute madness challenge! They were asked to create a project in 1 hour.

Surprise, surprise!! they've done it again!

We want to share those projects with you to encourage you and let you know that you too can create layouts and a variety of projects in an hours time.

Lydia Jackson
In the Stillness

Here's what Lydia had to say about her layout.
For this layout to save time and to keep the focus on the photo, I kept the color pallette and the lines simple. I only used a few embellishments that I felt reflected the photo and the story I wanted to tell, For instance, see how the tiny silver i-roc gems play off the sparkly paper, which in turn play off the snow in the photos. Sometimes just the right embellishment may be all you need."

Supplies used: Core'dinations Core couture, worldwin vellum, MLS tiny alphas, Fiskars punch.

Sophia Allison
Altered Diary

Sophia said this about her project:
"I kept my project very simple and easy. Used a strip of the adhesive border to go across the cover of the diary. Added a flower for accent in the corner and finished it off with a glass sticker to make it more girly for her. Added alphas for her name and voila...perfect diary for an 8 year old."

Guest Designer & Giveaway!

We are thrilled to introduce our Guest Designer for the month of November ...

"Hi my name is Kim Jeffress and I come from beautiful sunny Brisbane Australia. I am thrilled to be guest designing for Imaginese this month.
I am a former kindergarten teacher now SAHM to two little boys aged 5 and 2. I have been married for 6 years to a very busy husband who works at home most evenings so this allows me to get "my Scrapping" done without any issues LOL. In all I have been scrapping for about 10 years however just in the last two or three years have I have taken it more seriously and have been so honoured to have designed for several Australian and US manufacturers and this year was asked to be a Creative Team member for Australian Scrapbooking Memories magazine! My boys are my inspiration and most of my layouts feature them and their antics, I love recording the little everyday things that I don't want to forget."

Before we share with you Kim's beautiful creations we asked her a few questions so that we could get to know her a bit better.

Q:When and where do you scrap/craft?
A: I scrapbook most nights and I am so lucky to have my own room, brimming with the most awesome goodies!

Q: What is your favourite movie?
A: I can't go past Dirty Dancing!

Q: What is one item or technique you use most often?
A: I would have to say layering and clustering...

Q: How do you kick off your creative process?
A: It always starts with the story, what memory or tidbit of information about my boys do I want to record.

Q: What is your favourite meal?
A: Did anyone say chocolate!Q: What colour and style are your favourite pair of shoes?
A: mmmm before children I would have to say red and very very HIGH however now I would say red and very very comfortable!

Q: What product couldn't you live without?
A: My 3D foam tape, as I said before I love layering and the 3D foam tape just adds another dimension to a layout.

Alright, it's time to share Kim's beautiful work with you.

She used the Bon Voyage collection and created a TRAVEL SET that includes a bag to collection memorabilia, a water mister to keep cool, a passport box, Bon Voyage card and a memory jar.

We hope that you enjoyed Kim's beautiful creations using our Bon Voyage collection. We've enjoyed having her join us this month. Make sure to check out more of her fabulous work on her blog.

Day 4 ~ The i-top 2.0

We're thrilled that you are joining us again today for the final day of our release of the new i-top 2.0 tool. We hope that you've been enjoying all of the projects that we've shared so far.

If you've got some scrapbooking friends on your Christmas list this year then this would make the perfect gift (or just put it on your list!!)
It's not only used for scrapbooking but sewing, quilting, school class projects, jewellry, house decor, etc.

Let's see what our Design Team has to share with us today.

Samantha Hauzer
"So Thankful"

Samantha created this layout using an adorable picture of her children. We are all thankful for our family & friends and documenting those feelingst on a layout is a great way to share those thoughts with those we love so dearly.
On this page Samantha used the i-top and some brads to create a clean line of embellishments.

Melinda Spinks
"Thankful" frame

Here's a quote from Melinda regarding this stunning frame that she created.

"I decided to make a frame using our home grown wheat to hang on the wall and remind us to be thankful for the food we produce and to celebrate that we are having our first reasonable season in nearly a decade. The new i-top 2 extra large size brad daddies are perfect for thicker fabric like the recycled face-washer I used and the burlap is also a breeze with the new tool as the brads don't fall out beneath the fabric, now that is has the rubber ends. Love it!"

Kim Holmes
"Today I am Thankful"

We think this is a wonderful idea. Kim created an 8 1/2 x 11 layout that will travel around her Thanksgiving table gathering all
their family blessings this year - then it will go straight into her holiday album!

Day 3 ~ The i-top 2.0

The i-top 2.0 can be used to create so many amazing projects.
Hopefully you've noticed that over these last 2 days.
But we're not done yet. We've got another great show for you today so take a seat, get another cup of coffee and enjoy!!

The projects that the girls are showing today have been created using a variety of Brad Daddies (i.e 34mm ) and the Button Daddies (extra large - 34mm).

"Thankful" card

Aphra created this stunning Thanksgiving card and used the i-top 2.0 to create a brad for the center of the floral arrangement. We love all the layers and dimension on here!

Fall Necklace

Lydia has been at her crafty magic again and created this stunning piece of jewellry with her i-top 2.0, a 34mm button which she covered and then threaded onto a choker necklace. She embellished it beautifully with some feathers and some Glam Rocks using the i-top tool.

Thanksgiving Card

Cristal's children wanted to use her scrapbooking tools recently to make some cards for their teachers and grandparents. They used some twine to wrap around the brad daddy, cardstock, googly eyes (of course) and Imaginisce patterned paper.
Isn't he cute??? Great job Hobbs kids!

Fall Brooch

This breathtaking design was created using the extra large button (34mm) and covered with burlap. Erin finished it off perfectly with some silk flowers, twigs, tulle and put it on a pin backing.

Thanksgiving Napkin Ring

At the Smith's Thanksgiving dinner they write down what they are thankful for and then place those papers in a decorated vase in the center of the table. Shemaine's father reads all of them outloud after they said Grace.
What a wonderful tradition Shemaine.

Did you enjoy yesterday's creations? We sure hope so because we've got some more treats to share with you today. These girls have really been thinking outside the box and have come up with some
pretty unique ideas using the i-top 2.0.
Thanksgiving Necklace

Sophia made this beautiful necklace using some Happy Harvest papers, her i-top tool and some brad daddies. It would make the perfect accessory when you go out with your family & friends over the Thanksgiving holidays.

Fall Wall Art

Heather altered a canvas with a variety of mists, some branches. She used the i-top 2.0 and covered many brad daddies (in all sizes) with papers from Happy Harvest to embellish the twig. What a fabulous piece of artwork for the fall season.
Make sure to check out Heather's blog as she has a brief tutorial on how to create this project.

"Thanksgiving Treat Tubes"

Aren't these just the cutest? Rhonda altered these tubes with various papers & die-cuts from the Happy Harvest collection. She filled them with yummy goodies and topped each one off with a large brad using the i-top 2.0 tool.

"Give Thanks" card

Marielle designed this pretty card with the Happy Harvest collection and covered 2 different sized brads to resemble pumpkins. The spiral jute finishes them off just perfectly.

Napkin Rings

Do you need some ideas for table decorations? Why not try making some of these adorable turkey napkin rings! Cari covered 2 sizes of brad daddies with paper from the Happy Harvest collection using the i-top 2.0, glued them together and then adhered them to a piece of accordian folded paper. All of this is attached to a ring of cardstock and the napkin can be inserted through the cardstock ring.

Notice that Cari also used the i-rock tool to adhere 2 black Glam Rocks for the eyes.
Cari has posted a brief tutorial on her blog if you're interested in creating these for your holiday dinner.

Day 1 ~ The i-top 2.0

We are thrilled to introduce the new & improved i-top tool.

You will find it to be lighter weight than the original
which makes it easier to grip.
It's a darker pink in color and the rubber keeps those brads in place
while you are working with the tool.

We have come out with a new carriage (34mm size)
that you attach to the i-top tool just as you did with the other heads.
This will allow you to create with the extra-large brads (34mm).
They are absolutely so much fun to create projects with
and our Design Team has been busy at work creating with their new tools.

Throughout the week we will be sharing many wonderful projectswith you,
The Design Team was asked to create Thanksgiving themed projects using the i-top tool.

Let's see what they've done.

"Happy Thanksgiving"

Design Team member, Michelle, created this gorgeous project using some of the Happy Harvest collection & Roly Rosies. She made some i-top magnets to hold the paper in place on her 8x8 Creative Memories display board and large brads for the centers of the flowers in the beautiful cornucopia.

Here's some close-up shots.

"Simple Joys"

Tracey created this wonderful fall themed layout using Happy Harvest collection. She used the i-top and covered some brads with burlap to use as embellishments for the flowers and leaves. You can use just about anything to cover the brads with and that's what makes the i-top 2.0 so much fun to use!

"Thank You" Hostess Gift

Are you in need of a hostess gift for the turkey dinners you've been
invited to this Thanksgiving? This would make the perfect gift!
Courtney has creatively embellished this bottle of wine with cut out leaves from our Happy Harvest collection and used the i-top brads to finish off the nicely tied raffia bow.

"Autumn Splendor"

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for so much. The card that Keely created is perfect for this time of the year to remind friends & family how thankful you are for them.

"We Are Blessed"

Robyn used the small brad daddies to create the banner. She covered them with fabric and burlap and then wrapped some twine around each one to connect them leaving a little bit hanging at each end.
